At Bright Horizons children learn and grow through our unique emergent curriculum for learning in line with Aistear. Aistear is the National Curriculum Framework for children from birth to six years in Ireland. Aistear defines the type of learning that is important for Babies, Toddlers and Pre-schoolers, where children grow and develop as confident and competent learners through fun, interesting and challenging experiences.
Our curriculum addresses children's development from the very first stages of babies grasping, tracking and learning to let go, to the first to years of life spent in the creation of a child's first "sense ofself" following onto the pre-schooler persisting in independence and confidence, developing the skills necessary for school. Our insightful and well trained staff team are there every step of the way to scaffold each moment, identifying opportunities for learning right up through school age.
The environments within the centre invite children to learn and to see aworld of possibilities that are within their reach and our “Ready for School” programme helps children approach school with self help skills and confidence that will enable them to succeed.
Bright Horizons offer our “Growing Readers” programmeas we realise the importance of Early Language Development for all our children. New to Bright Horizons is our very own Growing Mathematicians and Growing Writers initiative.
The centre have been using signing with the babies and toddlers since they opened and have found this to be a valuable way of communication as the children can express their needs long before they have vocabulary skills to talk. The staff have received training and use it daily.
